Demi Lovato Slams 'Time' For Honoring Trump In 'Person Of The Year' Issue

Demi Lovato is using her voice to hit back at Time magazine for their "Person of the Year" issue because they've acknowledged the woman of the #MeToo movement as "The Silence Breakers," but still selected President Donald Trump as their runner-up individual.

"Time mag highlights brave women coming forward against sexual assault on the cover but names a man with sexual assault allegations against him runner-up to Person of the Year..Really @TIME? #hypocrites," the always outspoken star tweeted on Wednesday night (December 6).

Even though Lovato campaigned for Hillary Clinton during her bid for the White House, the pop star has taken a step back in the world of politics because she has noticed having a strong opinion on the landscape can really divide the country. Still, it seems this incident was worth the sacrifice.

"I've become less vocal about my distain for certain people over the past year because it only divides our country even more but this is worth speaking up about. @TIME mag - very disappointed in your hypocrisy and disrespect toward the women on your cover," she continued. "To be named POTY by @TIME it should be for doing something positive or brave LIKE the women on the cover. It’s annoying that it’s just about impact on the news."

Lovato also retweeted a message, where a fan suggested that Kesha should have been included on the list, considering her heavily publicized legal battle with reported abuser/collaborator Dr. Luke.
