Police reportedly want to speak with a member of Tyler, the Creator's old crew Odd Future about Jamie Foxx's recent assault.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday, December 26, authorities are interested in questioning Jasper Dolphin about what happened during Foxx's birthday dinner at Mr. Chow's a couple of weeks ago. Dolphin, a founding member of Odd Future and a stuntman from the Jackass franchise, is neither a suspect nor a person of interest. However, he was allegedly at the venue in Beverly Hills when someone threw a glass item that hit Foxx in the mouth.
Foxx was at Mr. Chow's on Friday, December 13, to celebrate his birthday with family and friends. During the dinner, someone pointed a laser in the shape of a penis at Foxx's table. The actor and singer reportedly got upset and confronted the jokers about the prank. He went to the table, which was full of members of Jackass' production team, and told them to knock it off. After he left, someone allegedly chucked a heavy drinking glass and hit Foxx in the face.
Foxx sustained an injury to the mouth that required stitches. "He had to get stitches and is recovering," Foxx's rep told TMZ. "The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.” Foxx wants to press charges against whoever threw the glass so that the incident doesn't happen to anyone else. Police say they have video footage from the night in question. Since the investigation is still ongoing, the footage hasn't been released.
Dolphin has not officially commented on the situation. However, he may (or may not) have expressed his thoughts about the matter. After the report was published last week, Dolphin took to X and posted one word.
"Cap," he wrote.
